Back to School: Career Development

LibrarySummer went by pretty quickly and now it’s back to school. Here are some ideas to get you started on your career development this Fall:

  • Reconnect with your colleagues after the summer months. LC: I just had lunch with a great colleague and mentor. Shout out to Gloria!
  • Now that the summer lull is over, look for conferences, workshops, networking events, etc. of interest and add them to your calendar. Maybe we’ll see each other in Kentucky.
  • *NYC area specific. Check out METRO’s upcoming events and workshops. Save the date for the next METRO User Experience (UX) Special Interest Group (SIG) meeting on Wednesday, October 14th from 10am-12pm. Stay tuned for details.
  • Update your LinkedIn profile.
  • Update your master resume.
  • Check out our career & professional development blog posts and our leadership & career development presentations.
  • Make a list of upcoming projects and work. This way, you have a better idea of what’s on your plate for the next few months and know what continuing education and professional development opportunities you can do (logistically time-wise).
