Several months ago, we consulted with a design team submitting a proposal for The Architectural League and Center for an Urban Future‘s design study Re-Envisioning New York’s Branch Libraries. Although the proposal was not accepted, the conversations around the theme of “integrating libraries into the city’s housing and community development goals, re-configuring libraries to meet community needs, and developing new ideas for expanding the impact of branch libraries” stimulated some great ideas around where design thinking fit in imagining the library of the future.

On January 4th, the five accepted proposals where presented. Check out the proposals.
